Tournament of Champions - Columbus, OH April 20, 2013

Ragin Raisins traveled to Columbus, OH on April 20, 2013 for this year’s Tournament of Champions. Over 3,000 kids entered from over 30 States to battle in the World’s Largest One Day Event. The Raisins had over 60 wrestlers from the Club and came home with 8 All-Americans.

Brute Empire Nationals - Brockton, NY 13&14, 2013

Ragin Raisins invaded Brockport, NY this past weekend for this year’s Brute Empire Nationals & Duals. Over 1,000 competitors from 5 States gathered to battle for the All-American status on Saturday April 13. Sixteen Youth Teams and 12 High School teams came back on Sunday April 14 to wrestle in the Duals Tournament. The Club came away from Brockport with 23 All-American from our 41 entries on Saturday. The Club also entered a team in both the Youth and High School Duals with both teams finishing 5th Place.

PJW STATE CHAMPIONSHIP - Harrisburg, PA March 22&23, 2013

Raisins traveled to Harrisburg, PA this past weekend to participate in this year’s PJW State Championships, held at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center. The club qualified had a record 12 wrestlers that competed in their respected weight and age group. The kids battled hard and wrestle very competitive, we lost 10 matches by 2 points or less. On a good note the Club’s Ian Malesiewski won his second State Title, after winning one as a 10 year old two seasons ago. This year Ian had pins in :15, 1:34, :34, and finished the Finals with a pin in 3 minutes 37 seconds! The club had a great Winter season, most will take a 2 week break and get back on the mat this Spring starting in April.

Area VIII Tournament - Corry ,PA March 15&16, 2013

The Raisins flexed their muscles at the Area VIII Tournament in Corry, PA this past weekend. The Club started the post-season entering 22 wrestlers in the 3 different Section Tournaments. After all 22 qualified for the Area VIII Tournament we had another great weekend qualifying 12 kids to the PJW State Championships in Harrisburg, PA this upcoming weekend. Top 2 in each weight class in 7&8 and up will be battling for the State Title Friday & Saturday in the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center.

Raisins Youth Team started our post-season this past weekend and followed the HS kids lead. Raisins were split up between the 3 Section Tournaments and had a great weekend of wrestling we had 22 wrestlers and 22 Placers! With around 150 to 200 wrestlers competing at each Section. The top 3 in each weigh class qualify for the Area VIII Tournament March 15&16 in Corry, PA. Wrestling starts 6:45pm Friday night and 9:00am Saturday.

Burrell Super Trophy - Lower Burrell, PA Feb 23, 2013

Ragin Raisins finished up the regular season at another PA Top 100 Tournament this past weekend at the Burrell Super Trophy in Lower Burrell, PA. The tournament brought in over 400 kids from PA, OH, NY, & WV. The club wrestled hard and finish in 4th Place in the Team race. Next step for the club is Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling Tournament with Section Tournaments held at North East, Warren, and Maplewood Schools. Top 3 from each Section will qualify for the Area VIII Tournament in Corry, PA, with the top 2 from Area’s advancing to the PJW State Tournament in Harrisburg, PA. Tim Edwards Memorial - Corry, PA February 16, 2013

Raisins were at it again this past weekend at the Tim Edwards Memorial in Corry, PA. The Pennsylvania Top 100 event brought in over 625 wrestlers from OH, NY, and PA. This is one of the largest youth tournaments in the State. The club had a great weekend bringing home lots of hardware! The club has one last event in Lower Burrell, PA Saturday February 23, 2013 before the post season. The Pennsylvania Junior Olympics will start at Section tournaments March 9, 2012 and will finish at the State Tournament March 22&23 in Harrisburg, PA. The Ragin’ Raisins spent this past weekend south of Pittsburgh wrestling both Saturday and Sunday. The Club started at the Connellsville Tournament on Saturday placing 2nd as a Team. Saturday’s event brought in over 300 competitors from PA and WV. On Sunday the Raisins traveled north 40 miles and competed at the Greensburg Salem Tournament where nearly 500 wrestlers entered from OH, PA and WV. Both tournaments were Pennsylvania Top 100 events. Another Top 100 tournament for the Raisins this weekend in Union City was the Ring of Fire Tournament. Over 300 kids gathered to compete and not only did the Club get some individual hardware we also won the team competition. Teams from MI, OH, and PA were in Union City and the Ragin Raisins brought home the Championship Trophy!

Raisins traveled to PJW Area VI Saturday January 19 for this year’s Top 100 Paul Johnson Memorial in Titusville, PA. The event drew in over 400 kids form Ohio and Pennsylvania. The club had another dominating performance with 10 wrestlers making the Finals, bringing home 6 Champions and 16 place winners. The Club will be traveling to Union City next for this year’s Ring of Fire Tournament. Ragin Raisins Wrestling club headed down I-79 Saturday January 12 for this year 33rd Annual Hardhat Tournament in Meadville, PA. Over 300 competitors from Ohio and Northwestern PA gathered to battle it out on the mats. Over 600 wrestlers representing 12 different States gathered to earn a Championship Title at this powerhouse tournament. South Side Tournament - Hookstown, PA December 15, 2012

The Raisins had four kids travel to Hookstown, PA this past Saturday December 15. Where nearly 300 kids gathered for the PA Top 100 South Side Tournament. The boys wrestled tough and had a great day.

Midview Youth Tournament - Grafton, OH December 8, 2012

Raisins traveled across the state line this weekend to Grafton, OH. Over 350 competitors from the Buckeye State gathered for this year Ohio Top 20 Series Midview Youth Tournament. The Club had another great weekend bringing home a bunch of hardware!

Walk, Westley, & Wallace Memorial - Tyrone, PA December 1, 2012

The Ragin’ Raisins Wrestling Club started out the season at one of Pennsylvania’s Top 100 Tournaments this past weekend in Tyrone, PA. The Walk, Westley, & Wallace Memorial Tournament brought in over 300 wrestlers from around the Keystone State. The Club had a great weekend, here are our Results.
